Earthquake – October 7, 2021

We, Unisis Corp., hereby inform you that an estimated 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit Tokyo area at around 10:41pm on October 7, 2021 (Japan Standard Time: GMT+9 hours).

 

There was no major damage on Unisis facilities.

All employees and their families are safe.

Unisis is operating as normally today, and no delay in production or transportation is expected as of now.

 

We will inform on this website if there is any related update.

As shown below, Unisis has its own Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and is prepared to continue its production even under damages by disasters.

 

1.Hokkaido Factory

-Operating since 2015 as a backup manufacturing plant of Unisis Saitama Plant.

-Currently under an extension work and expected to become fully operating in April 2022.

-Will have a sterilization capability in the winter 2021.

2.Kyushu Branch Office

-Established in May 2021 in Fukuoka Prefecture, as a backup office with functions of headquarter, sales and administration.

3.Partnerships with various suppliers of Japan

-Since Unisis commits to manufacturing in Japan, we maintain growing network with component/service providers in all over Japan.

 

We believe that those actions allow Unisis to keep stable manufacturing and supplies for our customers in all over the world.
